LOCATION
Goodnight Training Stables, Inc. is located in the Heart of the Rocky Mountains http://www.salidachamber.org/ , near Salida, Colorado. We are in the Upper Arkansas River Valley and our county boasts more 14,000’+ mountain peaks than any other in Colorado. And even though we are at 8,000’ of altitude, we enjoy a relatively mild climate. Days are cool and nights are even cooler, but with more than 340 days of sunshine every year, being outside is almost always enjoyable.
We have a tourist based economy, and we are well known for our outdoor sports opportunities, including skiing, river rafting, mountain biking, hunting and fishing. The quaint Victorian town of Salida is the largest historic district in the state and offers wonderful restaurants and numerous art galleries.
We hope you will make the trip to our private ranch and let us show you the outstanding horses we offer for sale. Our facility is complete with a large outdoor arena, 80X120 passive solar indoor arena, trail obstacle courses, open riding areas and access to hundreds of miles of mountain trails.
We are located 144 miles southwest of Denver, 100 miles west of Colorado Springs, 289 miles north of Albuquerque and 195 miles east of Grand Junction. It is an easy drive on US Highways from any direction and plenty of scenic splendor to make the drive interesting.
If you are traveling by air, you can fly into Denver International (DEN, 3 hour drive) or Colorado Springs ( COS, 2 hour drive), both of which offer numerous flights from most major airlines. You can also fly into Gunnison, Colorado, (GUC) which is one hour west of us; it is a small airport with limited connections, primarily serviced by United Express.
We’ll be happy to assist you with your travel plans and making accommodations locally. We’ll also spend as much time as you need with you and the horses, to help make sure you make the right decision and find the perfect horse.
